Automatic Recognition in 2025

This conference provides a sneak preview of the main outcomes of the Erasmus+ NARIC AR25 (2023-2025) project. The main purpose of this project was to support the 2018 Council Recommendation on promoting automatic mutual recognition of qualifications and learning periods abroad, through the exploration of hands on tools and approaches.

AR25 refers to 2025 - the year automatic recognition should have become a reality. While the new deadline meanwhile shifted towards 2030, we have come a long way in Europe and this conference shows and shares new insights where we are in 2025.

This is a “hop on / hop off” event: we will cover a wide range of topics, and the programme is designed such that you can decide to join for a few or all items.

• You are fully up to date with the main outcomes of the AR25 project and how they serve the Council Recommendation;
• You have an understanding of the concept of automatic recognition, and can apply this using the EHEA qualifications table, in 30 seconds;
• You’re up to speed with first hand experiences of how a self-assessment of your admissions procedure can help you and your higher education institution;
• You’re familiarized with the contents of the 4th edition of the European Area of Recognition manual – offering an international agreed upon interpretation of the Lisbon Recognition Convention;
• You’re introduced to the landscape of recognition of study periods in upper secondary education and the role of the LRC and ENIC-NARICs to bring this ambition further.
